I hadn't spoken to Isla in a few days. I didn’t know what was happening with her or why she was keeping her distance from me. I called and messaged her and yet nothing. I spoke to Thea and asked her what was going on, and all she said was to give her some time. I had given her enough time and still nothing. I was starting to get anxious, needed to know what the fuck she was thinking. I had fucking told her how I felt about her. It wasn't every day that I went and expressed my emotions to people. I never did that, because my heart was made of stone.

So, the rare time I actually felt for someone outside of my family and Amali, they damn sure better give me something more than radio silence.

I would see her at school and she would give me nothing. When our eyes met, she would avert hers quickly. The whole thing was starting to worry me which eventually morphed into anger.

I was angry that I had put my goddamn fucking heart on the line, all for her to push it aside as if it was a meal she didn’t want.

I was angry that she ignored me, as if my damn feelings meant fucking nothing. And I was angry that she was getting me all worked up over her. This wasn’t me. I didn’t get hung up on girls. I was whipped, and I wasn’t entirely enjoying it.

I sighed and hit shuffle on my playlist and picked up my gloves and strapped them on.

Rammstein. Their music was aggressive and heavy. Exactly what I needed in this moment. I needed to channel all my anger and frustrations on becoming a whipped little bitch into the movements and the hits placed on the punching bag.

"Oh man, what's up your ass?" Kris asked, sitting down on the bench in the gym.

"Nothing. Get the fuck out," I barked back at him.

"This about Isla?"

"No." Yes.

"You're a terrible fucking liar. Why don't you go talk to her?"

"Because I’m not some little bitch. I’m not going to go over to her, when she’s the one that holds the cards at this point. She’s the one that doesn’t want to talk to me at the moment. For reasons unknown.”

"Man, you could never be a bitch. From what Thea tells me, this is the first time she's ever kissed a guy. Her first kiss came out of the blue. She's probably still trying to process what it all means."

"It means I like her. Not fucking hard. She's an intelligent girl. Don't make her sound like a dumbass, Kris."

Thump, thump. The fact that he said that showed he had no idea about her or the situation. When someone tells you that they like you and then kissed you, then it fucking means they like you. No questions about it. I know she's different to most.
